As founder of Exceptional Education, I help educators design inclusive schools by providing them with the best tools of the trade. As an educational consultant and teacher development coach, I work directly with administrators, teachers, and support staff in the areas of collaboration, inclusion and evidence based instruction. I provide practical, effective, and efficient tools and knowledge for inclusive classrooms.
My world-class academic training and years of real-world teaching experience place me at an excellent vantage point. I know firsthand what it is like to be in the classroom every day. I spent more than a decade in the classroom as a special education teacher, with many of those years in team-taught environments. Not only do I have specialized knowledge about the everyday classroom experience for teachers and students, but also the trained eye of a researcher; with the ability to look at circumstances and data from an analytical and research based framework.
I have worked with a variety of groups with a variety of needs. My experience ranges from multi-day workshops with over 100 special and general educators to half-day trainings with small professional learning communities. Today I work with the Ventura County Office of Education as faculty for their Education Specialist Induction Consortium (ESIC) and Language and Academic Development (LAD) credential programs.
